This is a very well run shelter that needs community support. I will help in any way I can. Thank you for taking such good care of these animals!

I got Wendy 4 weeks ago. You were so helpful by letting me come before regular hours to pick her up. She is such a joy. She adapted to litter box and home atmosphere quickly. She plays and is so comical. She purrs so loudly and lays in my arms like a baby. She loves everyone even our daughter 's dog. Your facility is awesome and the animals are well cared for. Thanks for my precious 4 legged baby.

I wanted to give a shout out to Tee, Buddy, and the rest of the staff at WRHS! Everyone is so helpful, caring, and amazing to the animals at the shelter!! We now have two black labs that I’ve rescued from there. Zoe is almost 3 years old and I got her from WRHS in the summer of 2016. She was about a year old then. Then Milo I just got last week and he’s such a sweet boy and adapting well to his new forever home AND his big sister. Much appreciation goes out to everyone at WRHS! You guys are the best!!

Very crisp and helpful website. User friendly. I pray to take home my kitten today. If not... really soon! I'm so excited!

I adopted three Chows that all came from the same situation. First was Chewy (Blackie) I adopted him in August of 2015. He was scared of everything, his coat was in horrible condition. He had pretty much come straight to me from the situation with only a brief stop at the shelter. In December of 2016 I became aware that 2 of Chewys "sisters" We're at your shelter and had been since July oder 2015. Of course I had to go meet them. I was quickly approved for adoption and reunited Chewy and his sisters Maddie ( Goldie) and Arizona ( Daffney). They're all doing wonderful! Chewy is no longer afraid of the world the ladies are slowly becoming more bold. I give them all the time they need. There's no hurry. I can tell the shelter workers really cared for them. The ladies weren't matted and didn't smell like all the other dogs I've rescued from other shelters. This is truly a one of a kind place.
