Sammy (pictured on the top of this page in his dino costume also) is a wonderful boy.  He has been at the shelter since November, and we have no idea why!  He is 1 1/2 years old and ready for adoption.  He loves everyone he meets including people and other dogs.  He is very fun and energetic!  He loves giving kisses, and he would be a great dog for any family looking for a new companion. Sammy is a smaller beagle/shepherd mix, and heartworm negative.  If you want to give this awesome boy a new home, stop by the shelter and meet him.  You will not be disappointed!

Here is Momma.  Momma has been at the shelter a year in May.  She is a 2 year old female fixed and ready for adoption. She came to the shelter with babies, and she still waits for her forever home.  Momma is FIV + so an inside home would do best.  She is a wonderful cat who likes to be on her own and not require a lot of attention.  She enjoys walking around or just sitting on her perch in her cage.  Momma was sponsored by a grant so her adoption fee is already paid for as well.  If you want to get Momma out of the shelter into her forever home, stop by the shelter and visit her!

Prevent a Litter, Fix your Critter!
The White River Humane Society's vision is to end unwanted and abandoned animals in our community.  The White River Humane Society's mission is to care for the lost and homeless animals of Lawrence County, while providing education and services to the public that will lead to reducing the number of unwanted animals born in our community.  Each adopted animal that leaves our shelter has been spayed or neutered.
Keep in mind there aren't enough homes for all the litters born in Lawrence County, so please Spay or Neuter your pet.
