Due to insurance policies:
Every person who visits WRHS must sign in first at the office.
Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We also ask that there be no more than two children to each adult in your party.
WRHS does not allow visitors outside of the hours above, and no trespassing orders are in place.
These policies not only protect your family, but it protects our animals.
Thank you for understanding.
Just a friendly reminder...White River Humane Society does not pick up dogs or cats. Pets are brought to the shelter by city and county animal control and the public. When they arrive at WRHS they are given an initial vaccination (Not Rabies), scanned for a microchip, posted on our Facebook page and cats are held for 2 days and dogs are held for 5 days for owners to reclaim their pet. If not claimed, dogs are tested for heartworm disease and cats are tested for feline diseases. Pets are then spayed or neutered and then posted on our website and Facebook as eligible for adoption to the public. Accidents happen..if you lose your pet check with the shelter and keep checking. WRHS will make every effort possible to reunite responsible owners with their pets. Please spay and neuter your pets. WRHS has vouchers to help offset the cost. Please microchip your pet. WRHS has FREE microchips for Lawrence County residents.
Your support and contributions will enable us to help the homeless animals at WRHS. Your generous donation will fund our mission. If you would like your donation to go to something specific please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what that is.
